I'm thrilled to be hosting the Electrolux Chef's Secrets event at the Taste of Melbourne on Saturday December 2 featuring Reuben Davis and Jo Barrett.
Dream of cooking like a professional chef?
Electrolux is teaming up with Australia’s leading chefs to give you a taste of the professionals at Taste’s popular Electrolux Chefs’ Secrets. This one-of-a-kind experience will get you up-close-and-personal with the country’s culinary superstars, where you’ll learn how to cook one of their signature dishes. Following the hands-on session, the meal will be enjoyed together with a glass of matched wine.
Together, Taste of Melbourne and Smith Journal are hosting Table Talks, an unexpected series of thought provoking discussions providing rare insight into the food industry, its people and their success stories.
Table Talks presented by Smith Journal invites unique contributors from the food and beverage industry to share their stories and engage in an intimate conversation with a small audience. Each talk consists of a 15-minute presentation followed by a Q&A, presented by Zowie Minchin.
I'll be teaching about how to make pasta by hand at 3.30pm Friday December 1.
With festive cocktails supplied by iconic Melbourne institution The Everleigh you can get all your Christmas shopping done in one tipsy evening.
Studio Local is a 1930’s warehouse with both an upstairs and downstairs studio predominately used for photo shoots and events and run by locals Sarah Cooper and Stephanie Stamatis.
The Studio Local Night Market is about gathering the community and supporting good food and design from some of Melbourne’s very best (with cocktail in hand).

Please join us at this very special event to celebrate the launch of OSTRO.
Owner of the Common Good, Meneka Premkumar will be chatting with me about the journey of arriving at my first cookbook, the nature of cooking with whole foods, and how family and love is the real intersection of all good food.
Canapes, sparkling wine and other treats will be provided for guests at this intimate event.
Copies of OSTRO will be available for purchase at the introductory price of $44.95
Free but please book here.
Spend the day with me as we bake, style and photograph cakes from my new book.
I am terribly excited about this event after long-admiring the beautiful images of the illustrious Glenmore House, home to Mickey and Larry Robertson.
Join me and be among the first to own a copy of my book OSTRO. This event will take place between 10.30am and 12 noon, when a pretty display of her scrumptious cakes and biscuits (chosen especially for their relevance to the season) will welcome you to the Dairy on this first day of spring.
You will, of course, be very welcome to linger longer in the garden and potter in the Barn.
Cost $85.00 per person, including your very own signed copy of Ostro. Please book here.
"Julia Busuttil Nishimura has become famous for the kind of food we love so much; slow and from scratch, and now her beautiful recipes are collected into her first cookbook Ostro.
We cannot wait to make her mushroom and barely pie, orange-hazelnut shortbread and chocolate and sour cherry brioche buns, and the list goes on!"
Join me in conversation with Cornersmith owner, Alex, as we talk about our passion for cooking from scratch, even as busy mums, and all the pleasure that good food brings.
Free, but book here.
